About Mon
Mon Manabu is a contemporary artist living and creating in Byron Bay.
#1 NAME
Mon comes from Montserrat, a beautiful and enigmatic mountain in Catalunya, north Spain. Manabu means “to learn” in Japanese.
#2 SKILLS
Mon’s expertise and background includes interior design, graphic and web design. She studied Fine Arts in Barcelona where photography and painting became inseparable in her creations. She came to Australia to study a Fine Arts grant at Lismore University, which leaded in settling her home in Byron Bay.
Mon is an experienced artist in transfer and uses traditional Japanese techniques.
#3 INSPIRATION
Nature with its infinite shapes and colours is what inspires her and makes her creative. In her left hand is a brush, in her right hand a camera. Both offer her the option to stir two realities. Surrounded and inspired by amazing forest and wild life of Byron Shire, her paintings and photographs are evolving along with her knowledge about nature.
#4 ARTWORKS
Mon works both as a photographer and as a maker, layering images with collage to create exclusive home decor.
Her collection of prints, canvases and digital prints are loved by everyone and are the perfect statement artwork for styling your home.
